The processing time was almost as fast as just dropping the files into the folder. So I dropped the whole season in remux and saved everything right to a new folder in his drive as MP4s. I had a season of Adventure Time in HD my friend wanted me to put on his hard drive. You load up everything and set all the prefs and just let'er run. But even if I did, the audio settings are in the Subler pref panel. Which, I admit, I didn't know at the time. Now that I think about it more, I think the reason the file didnt work was because the 360 doesn't support 6ch aac. Because either the drive was FAT32 and I couldn't copy a bigger file, or it's NTFS or something else and the drive wouldn't work at all.īut I think remux does the 64-bit chunking automatically, since I don't see an option for it. Well, I was trying to play the file on an xbox, so it would have had to have been under 4GBs. But out-of the-box, very few devices support MKV. UPDATE: Obviously MKVs aren't a problem on a real computer. Which you can choose to do in AAC 2ch, 6ch, or passthrough. It takes minutes and no loss of quality because there's no re-encoding, except perhaps the audio. So 'remuxing' is simply the act of tossing that perfectly good video and audio into a compatible container, like MP4. But the players simply can't read the MKV container. It contains seperate video and audio files that are usually compatible with most video players. In case you don't know, MKV is a container file.
